Bellinge Community Engagement survey

Closed 17 Mar 2023

Opened 9 Jan 2023

Overview

We want to understand how you feel about community related services in Bellinge. West Northants Council is working with partners including Free2Talk Youth Club to find out what people think about community provisions or services and what they would like to have access to. The information we receive from you is important to help direct future work in the Bellinge area and to help decide the future of Bellinge Community House.

Our partners at Free2Talk regularly review areas of Northampton to better understand the health, wellbeing and characteristics of communities. This survey assists them in this exercise (specifically for the Bellinge area).

We are also keen to find out your thoughts on the Bellinge Community House, especially if you have used it in the past and what you think it could be used for in the future.

As well as this survey, we are actively engaging with the community, including young people, to understand who has used Bellinge Community House in the last 12-months, and what people would like to see there in terms of activities.

Background

The Council owns Bellinge Community House on behalf of the community. Community Spaces Northampton, who run the Community Centre, have taken the remainder of the lease, which means they run or manage the House, this expires in July 2023. As a Council we are very keen that the new lease is given to the organisation who is best able to provide what the community wants and needs.

What happens next?

We will review the responses from the survey and use the information you give to direct future work on local provisions and services in the area of Bellinge. Responses will also be considered in respect of the new lease for Bellinge Community House, being that the information can be a consideration in awarding the lease to the organisation who can best provide provisions and services needed in the area. Responses will also be shared with Free2Talk to help them with their future work.

There will also be an opportunity in the near future for interested parties to express their interest in talking on the lease for Bellinge Community House, and therefore the running of the facility. Interested parties can provide their details to debbie.maccoll@westnorthants.gov.uk to be notified of when this opportunity is open.
