Police and Crime Commissioner's Community Action Fund Grants
The Police and Crime Commissioner's Community Action Fund Grants support voluntary groups to deliver activities in line with priorities 2, 3 and 4 of the Wiltshire and Swindon Police and Crime Plan 2022-25.
Grants are up to £5,000 for one year and can be used to fund activities which will address the following priorities:
1. Reduce violence and serious harm
2. Tackle crimes that matter most to local communities
3. Improve the experience of victims and deliver justice
Under these three headings, the following are particular priorities but other activities which address the above priorities will also be considered:
1. Reduce violence and serious harm.
- Violence reduction and domestic abuse
- Violence Against Women and Girls
- Child abuse and Child Exploitation
- County Lines and Serious Organised Crime and exploitation
2. Tackle crimes that matter most to local communities
- Anti-social Behaviour
- Road safety*
- Rural crime and heritage crime
- Fraud, cybercrime and hate crime
3. Improve the experience of victims and deliver justice
- Victim care and support
- Mental Health
- The criminal justice system
- Restorative Wiltshire
- Reduce re-offending
*Please note this does not include funding Speed Indicator Devices, civilian ANPR cameras or any associated equipment or works. If you would like support with the purchase of a Speed Indicator Device or civilian ANPR camera, please approach your Town or Parish Council for funding.

What types of organisations can apply
You can apply for a grant if you are a:
- constituted voluntary or community organisation
- registered charity
- not-for-profit company including community interest companies where the majority of directors receive no payment from the company
You need to be a:
- local or regional organisation only working in Wiltshire or Swindon or in the south/south west of England
- local branch of a national organisation with a local management committee based in Wiltshire or Swindon and your own bank account
Your organisation must have:
- an active voluntary management committee with at least three people who are not:
- related to each other or in a long-term relationship
- living at the same address
Your organisation needs the following financial arrangements and documents:
- a bank account with two signatories that are not related to each other
- less than 12 months running costs in unrestricted reserves. This means in your end of year financial accounts, Unrestricted reserves (not including Designated funds) must be less than your Expenditure
- financial records or accounts
- a recent bank statement
- a constitution
- a financial plan or budget showing this year's expected income, expenditure and reserves.

New organisations who do not have the above in place may be able to apply through another charitable organisation.
What can I apply for and how much
Which types of projects are eligible for funding?
- Grants for 1 year from £750 to £5,000
- The maximum amount for capital costs is £5,000
- Grants can be used to continue an existing project or fund a new activity
- Spending of the grant must have started within 6 months of when it was awarded.
What costs can the grant pay for?
Any reasonable costs for the community group or project including:
- Core or running costs
- Project and activity costs
- Capital costs (buildings and equipment)
Who must benefit from the grant?
Most of the people who benefit from the grant must
- live in Wiltshire or Swindon
- be on low incomes. You might find our report on need in Wiltshire and Swindon helpful. You can access it here.
What we do not fund:
- Money to individuals or families
- The advancement of religion
- Medical research or equipment
- Animal welfare
- Party political activities
Who we don't fund:
- individuals
- schools
- statutory bodies such as city, county or parish councils or health institutions
- charities that operate nationally
